Dr Augusto Cesar Santos Jr is a Prof of medicine at Faculdade Ciencias Médicas and a clinical nephrologist at Hospital das Clinicas UFMG, Brazil. In 2010, received the Clinical Research Scholar Award from the Harvard Medical School. In 2014, was a guest researcher at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research and the National Institute of Health (NIDDK, Bethesda, USA). In 2019, was awarded the Building Capacity Bursaries by the Nuffield Department of Primary Care, Univ of Oxford. Received the ISN Mentorship Award and the Ambassador Shield for contributions to educational programs in Africa. Is the current Chair of the ISN Education Social Media initiative, a member of the World Kidney Day Joint Steering Committee and of the Digital Editor Team of the Transplantation Journals.
