I qualified in Medicine at St Georges’ Medical School University of London and continued my Clinical training in London. After training in Paediatrics and Clinical Microbiology and Virology I undertook a period of research at the Centre for Clinical Microbiology in the Division of Infection and Immunity at UCL.
After completing an MD on the use of MALDI-TOF for the detection of biomarkers of antibiotic resistance I was appointed as a Consultant and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Infection at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and UCL Division of Infection and Immunity.
I am the Research Lead for the department of Microbiology and a member of the UCL Centre for Clinical Microbiology Research group and am actively involved in developing the group’s Clinical research portfolio collaborations with clinicians at Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and other National and International Research Centres.
My research interests include antimicrobial resistance, Novel Molecular diagnostics, Paediatric Infectious diseases, Fungal disease in the immunocompromised host, and novel biomarker detection in mycobacterial and Fungal disease using mass spectrometry.
