Dr. Seema Baid-Agrawal, MD, DM & DNB (Nephrology), FASN, is a physician-scientist and transplant nephrologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. Dr. Baid-Agrawal has built an international academic career, bringing extensive clinical and research expertise in nephrology and kidney transplantation from four leading institutions across three continents.

She graduated from Smt. NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad, India, did her postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India, before advancing to clinical and research fellowships in Nephrology as well as Kidney Transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. She then continued her career at Charité Medical University in Berlin, Germany, where she completed her "Habilitation" (equivalent to a PhD). She has also served previously as a member of the Education Committee of the TTS.

Dr. Baid-Agrawal's research focuses on preventing long-term complications in kidney transplant and chronic kidney disease patients, with a particular interest in strategies to prevent immune-mediated injuries and metabolic complications, including post-transplant diabetes. She has successfully led numerous clinical research projects at each of the institutions where she has worked. She has been awarded several research grants and currently is the Principal Investigator for a number of collaborative national and international studies, including an investigator-initiated randomized clinical trial funded by the Swedish Research Council for the treatment for antibody-mediated rejection.
