Dr. K. Vanden Wyngaert, is a local policy advisor on healthcare transition, with a research focus on designing sustainable high-quality healthcare services that meet the unique needs of AYAs living with chronic and rare diseases. He holds a PhD in health sciences (2021) and has been involved in different multicentre trials and collaborations focussing on kidney transplant recipients and patients living with chronic kidney disease. In 2023, he received a Special Recognition Award from the ERN Rare Liver for his excellent contribution to improve healthcare transition for young patients living with rare liver disease.
