Studio Session: The new Era of DCD education: innovate, inspire, implement!
Tuesday September 24, 2024 from 08:00 to 09:15
Studio 1 - Yidiz 1
Description
This session is an educational experience designed to elevate the standards of organ donation through DCD. The session will commence with a foundational introduction to DCD, followed by a practical simulation showcasing the critical steps and EMS involvement in uncontrolled DCD scenarios. An engaging virtual reality experience will then be introduced to immerse participants in the DCD process. In the next segment, procedures will be demonstrated using a specialized thoraco-abdominal mannequin, providing hands-on learning opportunities in a simulation environment. Concluding the session, there will be an explanation of the role of ex-vivo machine perfusion techniques and their applications through practical sessions. This workshop is an opportunity for professionals to learn about educational approaches in teaching DCD. The session will focus on the role of medical devices in the DCD procedure.
